About me

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering department of the University of Washington working with prof. Noah Smith. My research on structured output representation learning is funded by SNSF through a two-year project, UNISON. Previously, I did a postdoc with dr. James Henderson at the Idiap Research Institute's natural language understanding group and earned my doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering at EPFL with professors Andrei Popescu-Belis and Hervé Bourlard. I have also interned at Columbia University and received my master's and engineer's degrees from University of the Aegean.

Generally, my research resides on the intersection of Natural Language processing and Machine Learning. In particular, I am interested in fine-grained sentiment analysis, explainable document modeling, information retrieval, multilingual language understanding, distance metric learning and weakly supervised models.
